Welcoming Kimberly D. Berry to the VI Justice Initiative Board of Directors

We are proud to welcome Kimberly D. Berry to the VI Justice Initiative Board of Directors.

Kimberly D. Berry is an attorney with more than twenty-six years of experience dedicated to public service, justice, and advocacy for vulnerable communities. She has built her career across the Virgin Islands, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, serving in roles that span litigation, legal services, policy development, and government leadership.

Ms. Berry currently practices in the Virgin Islands, where she handles complex civil litigation motions practice, appellate matters, and court-appointed work on behalf of children and adults in guardianship, abuse and neglect, and family law proceedings. Her recent service as Chief Legal Counsel for the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services reflects her commitment to protecting children, families, and survivors of crime. In that role, she drafted legislation and professional service contracts, oversaw hearings and appeals, advised on labor and administrative matters, and supervised the work of the Child Fatality Review Team.

Ms. Berry served as an Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia where she prosecuted juvenile crime, handled complex domestic violence and sexual assault litigation, and represented numerous government agencies in civil enforcement and administrative appeals. Her commitment to justice includes extensive work in the nonprofit and public-interest sectors.

Ms. Berry’s depth of experience and commitment to fairness and accountability make her a powerful addition to our Board as we continue expanding access to justice across the Virgin Islands.
